A load bank test proves an installation under real load, but the setup around it is a trade in its own right. On behalf of UPS manufacturers and their channel, we position the load bank, connect it, arrange cooling and air exhaust, and remove everything afterward. You or the manufacturer run the test.
A load bank is a portable dummy load: it absorbs the installation's power and turns it into heat. A unit like that is heavy, runs hot and needs air exhaust. We pick the spot, check the floor loading and place the units safely, even in a tight or active hall. In one data hall we set up five compact 200 kW units, each under the 600 kg floor limit.
We run the cable sets from the feed to the load bank and connect both ends. In that same data hall, the five units combined delivered 1 MW per feed, connected with cable sets up to 75 m and linked to a single remote control. We route the hot air out, so the hall's cooling does not have to carry the test.
You or the manufacturer write the test program and run the test. Our engineers stay with the setup, switch it over when the next feed is due and adjust whatever the program asks for. Once the test is done, we remove the units and cabling. In the data hall, that was after five days, and the hall was handed back clean.
Units safely in place. Transport into the hall, spot chosen for floor loading and access. Compact units where space is tight.
Cable sets to the feed. We run the sets and connect the load bank, with as little cable in the hall as possible. Sets up to 75 m to reach the setup.
A load bank turns the full power into heat. We arrange the air exhaust, so the test does not burden the hall's cooling.
Testing multiple feeds? We switch the setup over, one side at a time, so each feed can be loaded separately.
During the test our engineers stay with the setup for adjustments. You or the manufacturer run the test.
After the test we remove the units and cabling and hand the hall back clean, ready for production.

Four steps, from survey to clean handover.
Together with you or the manufacturer we determine the spot, the route in, the connection and the air exhaust.
Units in place, cable sets run and connected, cooling and exhaust arranged.
