Privacy policy

First-Case B.V. (“First Case”, “we”) respects your privacy and handles your personal data with care. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, why, how long we keep it and what rights you have. It applies to our website and to everyone who contacts us or applies for a job with us.

What data we process and why

Applications. When you apply, we process your name, contact details, CV, motivation and the other information you enter in the application form. We use this only to assess your application and to be in touch with you about the procedure. Legal basis: your consent and our legitimate interest in recruitment and selection.

Follow-up questions after your application. After you submit the application form, we ask you a few short follow-up questions online through a digital assistant. Your answers are summarised with the help of AI so our recruiter can better prepare for the call. For that summary we use Anthropic (Claude) as a processor. We use your answers only for this application and not to make an automated decision about it: a recruiter always assesses your application personally. Answering the questions is optional and you can skip them without any consequence for your application.

Contact and call-back requests. If you fill in the contact form or ask us to call you back, we process your name, contact details and your message in order to handle your question or request.

Website. Our website uses only functional cookies and privacy-friendly statistics. We do not show you ads on our site and do not follow you across other websites. We set two first-party cookies:

• fc_attr (maximum 90 days) remembers through which channel you reached our site, for example a job board or social media. It contains no personal data and is never shared with third parties; we use it to measure which recruitment channels work.
• fc_jcc (maximum 30 days) is set when you reach our site through an ad on the job board Jobster. If you then apply, we send a conversion signal back to Jobster so they can measure that their ad led to an application. We share only Jobster’s own click code for this, no personal data such as your name or email address. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in measuring the effectiveness of our job advertising.

If you apply, we store the origin with your application.

How long we keep data

• We keep application data for a maximum of 4 weeks after the procedure ends. If you give us permission to keep it longer, for example for a future role, we keep it for a maximum of 1 year.
• We keep contact and call-back data no longer than needed to handle your request.

Sharing with others

We never sell your data. We only share it with parties that help us deliver our services, such as our hosting and IT providers, our AI provider for summarising the application follow-up questions (Anthropic), and the job board Jobster to measure the effectiveness of our job advertising (a click code only, no personal data), and only as far as necessary. We make agreements with those parties about protecting your data. We provide data to government authorities where we are legally required to do so.

Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss and unlawful use.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your data. You can also object to processing, have your data transferred, and withdraw any consent at any time. Send your request to info@first-case.nl and we will respond within four weeks. If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
