Electrical Engineer Data Center Groningen
The largest data centers in the Netherlands are in the Eemshaven. You keep the power they rely on running.
As an Electrical Engineer Data Center you work on the critical electrical installations in the Eemshaven: UPS systems, standby generators, distribution boards and the measurement and control equipment that goes with them. You carry out preventive maintenance, inspect installations, take measurements, resolve faults and record every action, because in these buildings the documentation weighs as much as the work. You are there when the manufacturer commissions new systems, so you see up close how a site is built up. If you come from commercial and industrial buildings and UPS is new to you, you learn those systems here on the installation itself. The work asks for precision and reliability: in these buildings the power must never fail.
Right to work: You must already be allowed to work in the Netherlands. We do not sponsor visas or work permits.
No day is the same.
This is what a typical week looks like. No homes, no offices. Changing clients, locations and tech.
The clients change, the locations change, the tech changes.
Preventive maintenance on UPS installations in a data center: recording voltage and conductance per battery, thermography on the connections and reporting for the client.
Resolve a fault on a distribution board and carry out battery measurements.
Inspect the backup generators and test the automatic transfer switch.
Help commission a new UPS system, together with the manufacturer.
Review schematics and drawings, prepare materials and align the work with the team.
