Lead Data Center Engineer
You are responsible for the site. For the technology, the planning, the safety and for what the client experiences.
As Lead Data Center Engineer you carry responsibility for a complete data center site, or for a defined part of one: full power infrastructure in Tier 4 data centers, from preparation and engineering through installation to handover. You build the planning and the phasing, spread the teams across the work and hold progress against what was agreed. HSE is not a side issue here, you set how the work is done safely and, as work responsible person and installation responsible person, you put that on paper. Towards the client you are adviser and point of contact: you think along on choices, align with the manufacturer that commissions the systems, and keep the process on site running as tightly as possible. No management layer above you, but a direct line to the leadership and influence on how First Case sets up its work technically.

This is what a typical week looks like. You carry the technical end responsibility.
The clients change, the locations change, the tech changes.
You set the planning and phasing for a new Tier 4 data center in the Randstad: six UPS units, 48 battery cabinets, staffing and materials allocated per week.
You steer the teams on site, keep safety and progress against the work plan and walk the client through what was delivered that week. The manufacturer commissions the systems, you make sure everything is ready for that.
You train two engineers on a new Eaton system.
Technical review with the leadership about a request from Germany.
What you bring, what you get
What you bring
- Extensive experience (8+ years) as an electrical engineer or engineer in commercial and industrial buildings, with responsibility for critical installations
- Knowledge of UPS systems and backup power, in-depth experience with them is a strong plus
- NEN 3140 VP, VCA VOL and NEN 1010
- You are the work responsible person (WV) and installation responsible person (IV) under NEN 3140
- Proven experience in project leadership, planning and client advice at senior level
- You can lead technical teams and are the face of First Case to the biggest clients
- You own HSE on site: safe working, work plan and toolbox talks, and you hold people to it
- You plan and organise the work: phasing, staffing, materials and progress
- English at working level
- The right to work in the Netherlands (no visa sponsorship)

The top of the technical path
As Lead you earn €4.900 at entry, rising to €5.900 through the CAO pay grades. This is the highest technical role at First Case: there is no higher up the technical path.
